Offered services:

  1. Statistical consulting and analysis of research project data and analysis using standard frequentist and data-mining analysis approaches – Our offer encompasses the analysis and formulation of a scientific report  about the results themselves and statistical analysis of the data in biomedical research projects. Additionally, data visualization techniques are used to provide graphs for research publication or research conference presentation. Apart from standard statistical techniques used in clinical or basic science projects we perform analyses of high throughput data p.e. microarray data or proteomic data with usage of bioinformatics tools and data-mining techniques. Commercial or scientific collaborations are both possible after mutual agreement depending on the scope and workload entailed by the project in question.
  2. Consulting in research grant proposal planning and analysis  – We offer counselling at the stage of research project proposal that includes: power analysis or sample size estimation, help with study design with particular focus on statistical aspects of the further data analysis with evaluation of its possibility. Additionally, we offer initial data analysis for preliminary reports needed for grant proposal and description of statistical methodology. This offer may also concern PhD candidates and is realized in the form of statistical consultations and advisory on used statistical tests and techniques adequate to put forward hypotheses.
  3. Practical training in research and statistical methodology – This offer includes preparation of short hands-on training sessions in basic research methodology and statistical analyses most frequently used in biomedical sciences. Each technique is illustrated by real example from published original articles. Each training session is tailored individually to address issues specific for particular auditorium.   4. Popularization of scientific research with particular interest in translational research in medicine (lectures, courses) – We offer giving lectures concerning science popularization that focus on translational research in medicine during conferences or research training courses. To meet individual needs of the customer our experts in research and presentation prepare lectures/training seminars about specified and appointed scientific subject from biomedical research. The lecture/presentation may be given in Lodz, in Poland or abroad.

HARC Biobank

Services 

Preparation of biological material for long-term storage (samples coding in the 1D or 2D system; epidemiological, demographic and medical data archiving in specialised computer system).

  1. Storage of biological samples in the low temperature freezers (-80oC) or in liquid nitrogen (-196oC).
  2. Isolation of serum, plasma, blood.
  3. Automated nucleic acid isolation (DNA, RNA) from different biological samples. DNA and RNA standardisation.
  4. PCR or Real Time PCR – as needed. 

Biobank has space to store up to 170 000 samples in a low temperature freezer (-800C) and 9 500 samples stored in liquid nitrogen (-1960C). HARC Biobank is monitored 24 h a day.
