Title:

A method and system of recording and analyzing traffic (Marvel).

Protection status:

Patent application No. P.433073

Subject:

The device, was built for objective motion analysis based on existing accelerometric and gyroscopic sensors and a microcontroller. Marvel Motion Analysis is used to evaluate acceleration and displacement in biomechanical analysis. The originally assumed functionalities of the system included: mobility, obtaining the result of acceleration of the soldier’s upper limb and reaction time calculated from the obtained acceleration results. Based on the original features, the Marvel Army module was created – for assessing reaction time from the observation of a light signal to the firing of a shot (the module includes a collection unit, weapon simulator, beacon, tablet). The system has been expanded to evaluate sports activities in the form of jumping and running through the Marvel Move module (the module includes a collecting unit and tablet). In addition, it is planned to expand the system with the Marvel Balance or Marvel Gait module for biomechanical evaluation of static balance, dynamic balance and gait. The Marvel Move module can further be supplemented with an assessment of energy expenditure based on the accelerations achieved.

Benefits:

Simplicity, versatility and mobility of application.

Stage of work:

Validated prototype with all target parameters and properties.

Application:

  • Assessment of reaction time for the purposes of shooting training in the army and sport shooting, among others;
  • Assessment of biomechanics for physiotherapy and sports and personal training;
  • Ergonomics assessment.
