Title:

Natural remedies to support the effects of chemotherapy.

Protection status:

Patent application No. P.435623

Subject:

The object of the Scientific Team’s work was to identify natural methods for aiding in the treatment of cancer (including, among others, colon). Laboratory work on the management of bio-waste after cold-pressing of oil from the Strange Evening Primrose (Oenothera paradoxa) yielded the desired therapeutic effect verified in vitro.

The result of the work of the interdisciplinary Team is an innovative method of extracting Evening Primrose extract. The method used allows extraction of compounds that are difficult to dissolve and is successfully applied to plant material. The increase in extraction efficiency by increasing the extraction mass and less use of solvents due to the continuous nature of the Soxhlet extractor operation, reduces the cost of  extraction and makes this method much more beneficial to the environment.

Benefits:

  • Scalability of the method from laboratory to industrial scale;
  • The extract in question has strong antiproliferative properties and unique antimetastatic properties,which is an excellent way to support the effect of chemotherapy;
  • The presented technology is part of the “zero-waste “trend by using the waste of companies involved in cold-pressing evening primrose oil.

Stage of work:

Offered technology – a ready-to-use extract with in vitro proven efficacy.

Application:

  • In the production of medicines;
  • In the production of supplements with therapeutic effects.
